Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current financial processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement process maps to streamline workflows in accounting, payroll, vendor pay, and budgeting operations
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Leadership to understand key financial goals and align process improvements with organizational objectives
  • Design and implement organizational processes that improve effectiveness within the department
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures and initiate process improvement actions to improve team performance
  • Develop and maintain detailed process maps for each financial function, identifying opportunities for automation and reduction of manual tasks
  • Ensure that process changes are in compliance with DoD regulations, such as DoD Financial Management Regulation (DoDFMR) and FIAR (Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness)
  • Monitor the effectiveness of process improvements through KPIs and reporting
  • Learn and understand Command and team organizational relationships to effectively communicate information appropriately and effectively
  • Establish and maintain knowledge management best practices using MS Office 365 tool suite. Leverage tool suite capabilities to maximize efficiencies in communication and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Statistics, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Data Analysis, or related field
  • Familiarity with DoD Financial Management Regulation (DoDFMR) and Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR)
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) Basic Microsoft Power Platform User (i.e., Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate)
  • Strong writing skills including the ability to synthesize information into clear, concise messages both for detailed analytical reports and executive summaries
  • Experienced user of Visio. Ability to create and manage operational workflows
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven time management and organizational skills
  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Financial Management experience and/or direct work experience with job responsibilities
  • Experience with Department of Navy organizations, processes, and procedures
  • Experience in large scale process improvement or organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Experience supporting Audits or internal controls assessments
  • Familiar with NAVY ERP and the Procurement Package Development Process
  • Proficient with Microsoft Teams

Salary: 90k+ to align with education and experience

Hybrid: 2 - 3 days a week onsite
